Install Google Chrome on RHEL/CentOS 7 and Fedora

Google Chrome is a free browser software that is managed by google. If you want to know the features of google chrome's latest release please visit here at Google’s Chrome Features.

In this tutorial we will discuss how to install google chrome on linux rhel / centos 7 and fedora.

If you have previously installed google chrome, you can also update by following the command below

[root@siskom]# yum update google-chrome-stable
The first step before installing google chrome in rhel / centos 7 and fedora, you must enable google chrome repository by following the command below:

[root@siskom]# vi /etc/yum.repos.d/google-chrome.repo

[google-chrome]
name=google-chrome
baseurl=http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/rpm/stable/$basearch
enabled=1
gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=https://dl-ssl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub
After activating google chrome repository you can also check the latest version available from google chrome by following the command below :

[root@siskom]# yum info google-chrome-stable
Output :
Install Google Chrome on RHEL/CentOS 7 and Fedora


and to install google chrome follow the command below :

[root@siskom]# yum install google-chrome-stable
Install Google Chrome on RHEL/CentOS 7 and Fedora


Wait a while until the installation process is complete.

To run google chrome follow the command below :

[root@siskom]# google-chrome &
