What Is The Function of HTTP

What Is The Function of HTTP

Internet users of course often see website addresses that often start with HTTP. The question is what is HTTP? That's why it needs to be understood about the definition of HTTP, how it works and its functions. Judging from its definition HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol) is a protocol used to request and answer between client and server.

How HTTP Works

The role of a client is a browser or device used to display web content. The web browser initiates the request by establishing a TCP / IP connection to a port, then the HTTP server will listen in a certain port and wait for the client to send a request code that will request the specified page.
The action will be followed by a MIME message. Where the message has some head code information that can explain the aspect of the request. The process of transfer and reception of data from HTTP client to web server, and vice versa occur very short. But the process is also influenced by the high low internet connection.

HTTP function

HTTP certainly has its own role, where HTTP plays a role in establishing a standard mechanism for exchange at the level of messaging applications between devices on the web. In other words all web services are run through this protocol. On the other hand HTTP serves to retrieve interlink text documents served by the web. Not only that HTTP is also used to access resources over the web by using unifor resource locator (url). Well that's a brief explanation of what is HTTP and how it works and its function.
